FINDING QUIET IN THE CHAOS
Mindfulness Therapy in San Diego, CA
Services available virtually throughout California
You tell yourself to let it go, but your thoughts keep pulling you in. One thought turns into another until you're spiraling, feeling overwhelmed, or realizing you've missed what's happening right in front of you.
Mindfulness therapy helps you come back to the present when stress, worry, or spiraling thoughts take over. Rather than just talking about stress, we'll practice simple tools to help your body and mind feel calmer in the moment. Together, you'll learn ways to feel more present and kinder to yourself—like you would be with a friend.
It’s hard to feel calm and present when your thoughts keep pulling you away.
You could benefit from Mindfulness Therapy if…
⟡ You find yourself spiraling and aren’t sure how to calm your mind.
⟡ You feel stuck in your thoughts, replaying things, or worrying about what’s next instead of being present.
⟡ You notice stress showing up in your body—clenching your jaw, holding your breath, or feeling tense without realizing it.
⟡ You have a hard time slowing down or relaxing, even when you finally have a moment to yourself.
⟡ You’re hard on yourself and wish you could be more patient and kind toward yourself.
⟡ You want practical tools to help you feel calmer and more grounded when life feels overwhelming.
Rather than only talking about what's been hard, we'll practice simple tools you can use when stress takes over. You'll leave sessions with ways to calm your mind and body, be kinder to yourself, and feel more present in your everyday life.

KOALANI LAHR, LMFT
Aloha, I’m Koalani, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist who helps adults who feel stuck in their heads, overwhelmed by stress, and tired of being so hard on themselves.
Maybe slowing down feels harder than it sounds. When stress builds, you find yourself doing more—cleaning the house, staying busy, saying yes when you want to say no, or trying to keep everything under control. Even when you finally have a moment to rest, your mind and body don’t know how to settle.
In our work together, we’ll practice ways to help you pause, feel more present, and respond to yourself with more kindness. Together we'll practice mindfulness and self-compassion to quiet the inner bully and work through difficult moments.
This isn't about doing more or becoming a different person. It's about learning to slow down, trust yourself, and respond to yourself with the same patience and care you offer to others.
Whether you are caught in spiraling thoughts, struggling to slow down, or feeling disconnected from yourself, you don’t have to navigate this alone.
When stress takes over, it can be hard to slow down, get out of your head, or treat yourself with the same kindness you offer others. Mindfulness and Self-Compassion can help you build a different relationship with your thoughts, emotions, and yourself.
-
Mindfulness is learning to notice what is happening in the moment instead of getting swept away by your thoughts or emotions.
It can help you recognize when you’re starting to spiral, pause, and respond with more calm and intention.
-
Not at all. Many people worry they won’t be “good” at meditation or that their mind is too busy.
Mindfulness isn’t about clearing your mind or stopping thoughts. It’s about learning how to notice your thoughts without getting pulled in by them.
-
Many people have an inner bully that tells them they should be doing more, handling things better, or not feeling the way they do.
Self-compassion helps you learn to respond to yourself with the same patience and kindness you would offer a friend.
-
We won’t just talk about what feels overwhelming—we’ll practice tools you can use in everyday life.
This may include grounding exercises, breathing techniques, meditation, and other mindfulness practices to help you feel calmer and more present when stress takes over.
